所羅門王之後，以色列分為南北兩
國。北國以色列的首都在撒馬利亞
。南國猶大的首都在耶路撒冷。十
二先知所經歷的時間是從公元前845年
到公元前433年。 十二先知中，俄巴底
亞先知 與 約珥先知, 同以利沙先知同
期，南北國的情況還好。但之後的 350
年 可以說是以色列人，在舊約最黑
暗的一段日子。北國以色列國在公
元前 722年亡國。北國亡國後沒有復國
。南國猶大在公元前 586年亡國。在亡
國前，神不斷差派祂的先知勸南北
國的人民悔改。南國亡國後，被擄
。神繼續差派先知, 帶領他們回歸，
重建。在這段時間，神的話語，就
好像沙漠裏的甘泉一樣曉諭以色列
人悔改，給他們復興，救贖盼望
。耶穌有十二個門徒，以色列有十
二支派，一年有十二個月。所以有
十二本先知書，絕非偶然。這系列
不單只從一個整體角度來看十二先
知書，亦從神托給先知的任務，和
聖靈的默示的角度，來欣賞十二先
知書。
